MSM 30 declines 0.17% in mid-trade

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) benchmark MSM 30 retreated 0.17% or 9.16 points to the level of 5,354.06 points in Wednesday’s mid-trading.

The Sharia index also dropped 0.22% or 1.81 points to 830.4 points.

Trading volume reached 2.38 million shares exchanged at OMR 381,280 ($990,337) through 211 deals.

The financial, industrial and services sectors declined 0.71%, 0.22% and 0.09% respectively.

Global Financial Investment topped losers in mid-trading after falling 4.58%, while Ahli Bank was the best performer after growing 1.71%.

Bank Sohar made the biggest trading volume activity with 587,430 traded shares, whereas Muscat Bank recorded the highest trading value activity with a liquidity of OMR 103,520 ($268,883).

MSM 30 and the Sharia index fell yesterday by 0.61% and 0.28% respectively.
