Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market extended its losses for the fifth straight day as its benchmark MSM 30 index closed Wednesday’s session falling by 0.17% or 9.16 points to the level of 5,513.7 points.
Trading volume decreased to 8.18 million shares from 9.46 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also shrank to OMR 1.93 million from OMR 2.29 million.
The financial sector dropped 0.36%, pressured by a 1.74% fall in HSBC Oman, the industrial sector retreated 0.19% due to a 1.04% decline in Galfar Engineering.
Meanwhile, the services sector grew alone by 0.25% as Sembcorp Salalah topped gainers by adding 2.51%.
