MSM 30 edges 0.25% up at close

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) benchmark index, MSM 30, closed Tuesday at the level of 5,418.01 points after jumping 0.25% or 13.76 points, making a second consecutive rise.

Sharia Index also increased 0.13% to 863.13 points.

Trading volume reached 7.9 million shares worth OMR 2 million through 582 trades.

The financial and industrial sectors increased 0.33% and 0.01%, respectively, while services declined 0.15%.

Out of 44 shares exchanged today, 16 closed higher, seven others dropped and 21 were flat.

Al Hassan Engineering topped the gainers with a growth of 2.82%, and Acwa Power Barka made the deepest loss with 9.85%.

Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume as 1.7 million shares were traded, and Muscat Bank was the value leader after gaining OMR 533,270.

MSM 30’s main index closed yesterday with a rise of 0.92% or about 49.3 points to 5,404.2 points, the highest level since five sessions.
