Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market closed Wednesday’s trading on a positive note as its benchmark index grew by 0.24% or 13.75 points to the level of 5,783.1 points.
Trading volume increased to 9.15 million shares from 8.9 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, while turnover decreased to OMR 2.16 million from OMR 2.34 million.
The index was backed by the rise in most of blue chips, as Bank Sohar topped risers by adding 1.7%, while Oman Investment and Finance leapt by 1.03% and Gulf Investment Services Holding grew by 0.85%.
The services and financial sectors rose by 0.26% and 0.1% respectively, while the industrial sector fell alone by 0.18% as Oman Cement declined by 1.26% and Galfar Engineering shrank 0.95%.
