MSM 30 extends losses for 6th session in row

Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 of Muscat Securities Market continued its bearish performance for the sixth session a row as it closed Tuesday falling 0.44% or 27.6 points to 5,810.96 points, the lowest level since 20 April.

The Shariah index also shrank 0.94% or 8.26 points to the level of 872.77 points.

Trading volume reached 22.55 million shares exchanged at OMR 5.38 million, compared to 22.48 million shares exchanged yesterday at OMR 4.7 million.

The industrial and financial sectors fell 1.06% and 0.44% respectively, while the services advanced 0.43%.

Construction Material Industry was the best performing stock after gaining 3.23%, whereas Oman Flour Mills was the worst with a 4.84% decrease.

Bank Muscat made the highest liquidity of OMR 854,770, while Galfar Engineering was the most traded stock with a volume of 2.98 million shares.

MSM 30 fell yesterday by 0.88% to 5,838.56 points.
