MSM 30 gains 21 pts at close

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) turned to green after three red sessions in a row, as the benchmark MSM 30 ended Thursday’s trading with a rise of 20.9 points or 0.35% to the level of 5,969.47 points.

The Shariah index also grew 0.16% or 1.42 point to the level of 888.74 points.

Trading volume increased 80.24% to 27.54 million shares from 15.28 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Turnover rose 47.36% to OMR 5.18 million from OMR 3.5 million on Wednesday.

The services, industrial and financial sectors advanced 0.91%, 0.43% and 0.36% respectively.

Renaissance Services topped gainers by adding 8.39%, while Construction Materials Industries led decliners after falling 2.94%.

HSBC Oman was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 4.38 million shares, whereas Renaissance Services made the highest liquidity of OMR 711,120.

MSM 30 fell yesterday by 0.51% or 30.33 points to 5,948.58 points.
