MSM 30 gains 49 points at close

Mubasher: The MCM 30 index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Tuesday’s session at the level of 5,709.03 points after rising 0.86% or 49.1 points, breaking a two-day losing streak.

The Shariah index also grew 0.78% to the level of 862.67 points.

Trading volume amounted to 25.58 million shares exchanged at OMR 3.87 million, compared to 14.7 million shares exchanged yesterday at OMR 2.28 million.

The financial was the best performing sector with an increase of 1.47%, followed by the industrial and services sectors after rising of 0.99% and 0.31% respectively.

Galfar Engineering and Contracting was the top winner after adding 7.95%, while Al Jazeera Services led decliners after falling 1.20%.

Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume as it saw trading of 3.36 million shares, whereas Al Anwar Holdings made the highest liquidity with OMR 400,550.

The main index fell yesterday by 1.31% or 75.21 points to the level of 5,659.93 points.
