MSM 30 inches up 0.40% at close

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market closed Wednesday in the green territory, as the benchmark MSM 30 edged up 0.40% or 19.75 points to 4,953.98 points, while the Sharia Index declined 0.30% to 799.59 points.

Trading volume rose by 62% to 28.33 million shares, versus 17.49 shares exchanged yesterday.

Turnover was 129.7% higher to OMR 8.5 million from OMR 3.7 million on Tuesday.

Also, the market value inched up 0.2% to OMR 15.27 billion, compared to OMR 15.24 billion yesterday.

While the financial and services sectors went up 0.68% and 0.31% respectively, the industrial was 0.32% lower.

United Finance was the best performing share after adding 4.67%, while Construction Material Industry was the weakest with a fall of 6.90%.

Sembcorp Salalah made the biggest turnover of OMR 2.5 million, while Al Suwadi Power saw a trading volume of 10 million shares.

The main index closed Tuesday with a decline of 0.64% or 31.58 points to 4,934.23 points.
