MSM 30 loses 30 pts at close

Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 of the Muscat Securities Market closed Monday’s trading with a fall of 0.51% or 29.73 points to the level of 5,779.6 points.

Trading volume increased to 13.53 million shares from 11.7 million shares exchanged on Sunday, turnover also leapt to OMR 3.11 million from OMR 2.46 million.

The index was dragged by a collective decline in its sectors, as the financial, industrial and services sectors dropped by 0.59%, 0.45% and 0.36% respectively.

Gulf Investment Services Holding was the worst performing stock after falling by 3.28%, while Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding was the worst performer after adding 2.25%.

Phoenix Power was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 2.38 million shares, while Omantel made the highest liquidity of OMR 468,600.
