Mubasher: Despite turbulences that hit global markets after the Federal Reserve raised its interest rate, Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) benchmark index, MSM 30, opened Thursday in green, as it jumped 0.26% or 14.03 points to the level of 5,376.02 points in mid trading.
Trading volume reached 4,016 million shares valued at OMR 786.180 through 324 trades.
MSM sectors rose collectively, led by the industrial index with 0.73%, then the services and financial sectors with 0.19% and 0.15%, respectively.
Out of 33 companies saw trading, 33 shares moved higher, six others dropped and 11 remained flat.
Al Jazeera Steel Products Company headed gainers with a growth of 8.89%, whereas Al Jazeira Services topped losers after moving 4% lower.
MSM 30 closed Wednesday lower 0.07% or 3.63 points to 5,361.98 points.
