Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) main index, MSM 30, recorded on Thursday its highest level in 16 sessions after rising 1.09% or 58.6 points to 5,419.3 points.
The Sharia Index also edged up 0.96% or 7.9 points to the level of 832.98 points.
Turnover increased to OMR 7.2 million from OMR 2 million on Wednesday.
Trading volume came to 31.4 million shares through 1,617 trades, compared to 15.3 million shares exchanged yesterday through 677 transactions.
The financial, services and industrial sectors leapt by 1.12%, 0.83% and 0.56% respectively.
Out of 46 stocks, 22 closed in green, three others declined and the remaining 21 were flat.
Oman United Insurance was the best performing share after adding 10%, while Global Financial Investment topped the red list after dropping 4.35%.
Al Anwar Holdings was the most active with a trading volume of 5.75 million traded shares valued at OMR 1.04 million, and its share closed at OMR 1.181.
MSM 30 closed yesterday on a negative note due to falls in the financial and industrial sectors.
