Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM 30) opened Sunday on negative note, as the benchmark MSM 30 declined 0.11% or 5.87 points to the level of 5,398.64 points.
The Sharia Index also fell 0.03% or 0.22 points to 835.27 points.
Turnover reached OMR 1.34 million ($3.480 million) as 4.01 million shares were traded through 222 trades.
The services and financial sectors shrank 0.15% and 0.09% respectively, while the industrial grew 0.23%.
Gulf General Investment was the worst performing share after falling 4.26%, while Al Jazeera Steel Products was the best after rising 3.57%.
Galfar Engineering made the biggest trading volume activity with 1.37 million traded shares, whereas Sembcorp Salalah recorded the highest trading value activity with a liquidity of about OMR 786,000 ($2.041 million).
The main gauge and the Sharia index fell on Thursday by 0.12% and 0.27% respectively.
