MSM adds 0.29% in week

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market's (MSM) main index added 0.29% or 16.82 points and closed at the level of 5,750.96 points.

The industrial and the financial sectors gained 1.37% and 1.12%, respectively, while the services sector rose 0.61%.

Omani and Arab investors were net buyers at OMR 3.62 million and OMR 28,390 respectively, while foreign and gulf investors leaned towards selling netting OMR 2.05 million and OMR 1.6 million, respectively.

Construction Materials Industries led gainers and surged 22.58%, followed by Al Madina Takaful Co. and Al Madina Investment by 20.51% and 18.18%, respectively.

On the other hand, Takaful Oman Insurance topped the worst performance and declined 7.14%, followed by Al Hassan Engineering and Global Financial Investment by 4% and 1.76%, respectively.

The market cap stood at last week's level at OME 17.44 billion.

Total traded volumes hiked 48.82% to 120.48 million shares from 80.95 million shares last week.

Turnovers also increased by 14.77% to OMR 21.86 million compared to OMR 19.05 million in the week before.

Bank Muscat led traded values with SAR 4.4 million, while HSBC was the most active in traded volumes with 12.57 million shares.
