MSM back to green, gains 70 points

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) turned into green after two red sessions, as the benchmark MSM 30 closed at the level of 5,240.49 points after gaining 1.45% or 75 points, and the Sharia Index leapt 0.89% or 7.17 points to 814.92 points.

Turnover jumped to OMR 5.83 million from OMR 3.42 million yesterday. Trading volume reached 27.81 million shares through 1,552 trades, compared to 17.45 million shares exchanged yesterday through 840 transactions.

The financial, services, industrial sectors rose by 2.41%, 0.1% and 0.45% respectively.

Out of 52 stocks, 30 closed on a positive note, six others declined and the remaining 10 were flat.

Oman Fisheries was the top riser after adding 8.16%, while Raysut Cement was the top loser as it shrank 1.31%.

Al Anwar Holding was the most active share with a trading volume of 7.82 million shares and a liquidity of OMR 1.34 million, and the share rose to OMR 0.171.

MSM 30 closed yesterday in the red zone for the second day in a row due to a fall in the financial and industrial sectors.
