MSM back to red on financial, industrial sectors

Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended the negative performance on Tuesday, weighed by the decline of financial and industrial sectors.

The general index lost 0.39% or 20 points to reach 5,192 points, while Shariah index declined 0.43% or 3.4 points to reach 812.4 points.

Turnover reached OMR 7.53 million ($19.490 million) on Tuesday, compared to OMR 5.49 million ($14.276 million) on Monday. Trading volume stood at 28.92 million shares, compared to 32.13 million shares.

The financial sector slid 0.84, followed by the industrial and services sectors at 0.15% and 0.35% in a row.

Ahli Bank topped gainers after adding 3.3%, while Al Madina Investment Company was the worst performer after falling 5.4%.

Omantel was the value leader after generating OMR 1.14 million, with trading volume reaching 802.9 million shares.

Phoenix Power was the most active company with trading volume of 3 million shares, generating 441,300.
