Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Tuesday in green, supported by a collective rise in its sectors.
The benchmark MSM 30 rose 0.38% or 20.56 points to the level of 5,415.66 points, and the Sharia Index edged up 0.13% or 2.08 points to 836.5 points.
Trading volume grew 57.92% to 26.53 million shares, compared to 16.8 million shares exchanged yesterday. Turnover increased to OMR 7.34 million from OMR 3.3 million.
The financial, industrial and services sectors advanced 0.35%, 0.22% and 0.14% respectively.
Galfar Engineering was the best performer after adding 3.33%, while Oman and Emirates Investment Holding was the worst with a fall of 9%.
Muscat Bank was the most active with a trading volume of 6.11 million shares worth OMR 2.64 million.
The main index grew yesterday 0.21% or 11.54 points to the level of 5,395.11 points.
