Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) finished Monday’s session in the green zone, reversing yesterday’s negative performance.
The benchmark MSM30 rose 24.63 points or 0.46% to 5,436.91 points while MSM Shariah Index gained 6.14 points or 0.74% to 839.05 points.
Trading value stood at OMR2.83 million ($7.33 million) against OMR2.84 million ($7.36 million) yesterday.
Trading volume jumped to 13.47 million shares traded over 699 transactions from 14.12 million shares in 824 transactions yesterday.
Sector-wise, the industrial, financial, and service sectors ended the session higher by 1.01%, 0.22%, and 0.05% respectively.
Out of 45 companies exchanged today, 19 move up; 7 moved down; and 19 remained unchanged.
Tracking the stock movement, Construction Material Industry headed the positive note as it increased 6.45% to OMR0.033 a share. Meanwhile, Al Batinah Power topped the negative note with a rise of 5.13% to OMR0.074 a share.
The most active value was Bank Muscat with a turnover of OMR525,000 approximately, while Bank Nizwa topped the most active stocks by volume after trading 3.14 million shares.
