Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Sunday’s trading down 0.02% or 0.91 points, and closed at the level 5,818.6 points.
The benchmark index declined on the back of the negative performance of three blue chip stocks, as Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman and Emirates went down by 4.02% and 0.71% respectively.
As for the sectors performance, the industrial sector index slipped 0.2% as Muscat Thread Mills led the decliners and dropped 9.65%.
On the other hand, the financial sector gained 0.12% as Al Batinah was the biggest gainer and surged 7.22%, while Al Izz Islamic Bank added 2.94%.
The services sector levelled up 0.07% as Port Services Corp and Renaissance Services increased by 3.46% and 1.66% respectively.
Traded volumes increased to 15.8 million shares compared to 15.1 million shares on Thursday, while traded values reached OMR 4 million up from 3.24 million.
