Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Thursday down 0.30%, losing 16.5 points to 5,475.92 points.
The financial sector shed 0.46% as Al Sharqiya Investment Holding Company (SIHC), Ahli Bank, Bank Sohar, and Bank Muscat lost 3.28%, 2.67%, 1.36%, and 0.99%, respectively.
The industry sector inched down 0.04% after Oman Fisheries declined 1.32% and Al Jazeera Steel Products dropped 0.74%. Earlier today, Oman Fisheries said it dumped 25 metric tonnes of unwholesome fish following a government inspection.
On the other hand, the services sector rose 0.12% as Renaissance Services gained 1.86%.
Traded volume dropped to 15.16 million shares on Thursday against 17.43 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover decreased to OMR 2.45 million from OMR 3.08 million in the previous session.
Al Madina Takaful led in terms of trading volume with 5.63 million shares traded, while Al Anwar Holdings was the most active stock in terms of trading value with a liquidity of OMR 643,850.
Earlier on Thursday, the main index rose 0.08% to 5,496.64 points.
