MSM closes Wednesday in green

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Wednesday’s trading session in green, as the main index MSM30 went up 0.19%, gaining 11.09 points and closing at 5,791.12 points.

The benchmark index rose on the back of blue chip stocks, as Oman and Emirates Investment, Al Sharqiya Investment, and Bank Nizwa gained 4.08%, 2.33%, and 2.25%, respectively.

As for the sectors' performances, the industry index increased 0.46%, as Oman Fisheries led the session’s gainers and surged 5.56%.

The financial sector added 0.19%, as Al Izz Islamic Bank gained 4.35%, while the services sector index levelled up 0.17%, as Oman Investment and Ooredoo grew 1.83% and 1.79%, respectively. Gains were offset by National Gas which lost 1.5% and was the biggest decliner.

Traded volumes reached 72.55 million shares compared to 41.71 million shares on Tuesday’s session, while traded values increased to OMR 12.48 million up from OMR 8.45 million on Tuesday.
