MSM closes in green, up 0.63%

Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) reversed the bearish performance it maintained for two sessions on Wednesday, backed by a rise of oil prices on low US inventory.

The general index rose 0.63% or 34.37 points to reach 5,502.87 points, while Shariah index increased 0.15% to 867.33 points.

Turnover reached AED 2.66 million after 12.27 million shares were traded through 735 transactions.

The financial sector added 1.12%, followed by the industrial and services sectors at 0.16% and 0.10%, respectively.

Ahli Bank was the best performer after rising 7.22%, while Gulf Investment Services Holding led losers after falling 4.26%.

Al Anwar Holdings was the most active company after trading 1.78 million shares, while Bank Muscat was the value leader after generating OMR 654,150.
