Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Wednesday’s session on a negative note, as the benchmark MSM 30 fell 1.33% or 75.53 points to 5,467.36 points.
The Shariah index also declined 0.27% to the level of 842.22 points.
Trading volume reached 15.63 million shares exchanged at OMR 2.46 million ($6.39 million) through 765 trades.
The financial sector shrank 1.28% as Bank Dhofar topped losers with a fall of 7.98% to OMR 0.242 ($0.63).
The industrial sector also slid 0.03%, affected by a 2.48% decrease in Global Financial Investment, while Al Hassan Engineering topped gainers after adding 5.41% to OMR 0.078 ($0.20).
Bank Sohar was the most active stock with a volume of 3.53 million shares exchanged at OMR 489,730 ($1.3 million).
MSM 30 declined yesterday by 0.1% or 5.35 points to 5,540.9 points.
