Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) saw a negative performance for the tenth session in a row on Tuesday, falling 0.36% or 21.17 points to reach 5,814.35 points.
Shariah index fell 0.08% to close at 905.79 points.
Trading volume reached 18.5 million shares on Tuesday, compared to 9.9 million shares. Turnover rose to OMR 3.7 million from OMR 1.59 million.
The banks sector fell 0.62%, followed by the services and industrial sectors which declined by 0.03% and 0.12%, respectively.
Renaissance Services was the top gainer after adding 2.48%, while Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding led losers after falling 5%.
Bank Nizwa was the most active company after trading 6.29 million shares, while Omantel was the value leader as it generated OMR 951,120.
