MSM declines 0.22% in week

Mubasher: The Muscat Secutiries Market (MSM) saw a negative performance in the week ended 25 May.

The main index fell 0.22% or 11.93 points to reach 5,403.14 points.

The industrial sector declined 0.48%, whereas the financial and services sector added 0.24% and 0.23%, respectively.

The financial sector saw the highest turnover after generating OMR 7.68 million, representing 64.24% of the market’s liquidity, while the industrial and services sectors saw a liquidity of OMR 2.72 million and SAR 1.55 million, respectively.

United Finance led losers with a 5.43% decline, while Al Jazeera Steel Products and Oman National Engineering and Investment retreated 4.49% and 3.57%, respectively.

On the other hand, Al Madina for Investment Company topped gainers after adding 13.64%, while Al Izz Islamic Bank, and Galfar Engineering and Contracting added 8% and 7.59%, repectively.

Trading volume reached 86.41 million shares this week, compared to 82.18 million shares last week. Turnover amounted to OMR 11.96 million, compared to OMR 12.79 million.
