Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) slid 0.18% or 10.21 points to 5,613.35 points on Thursday.
The index was affected by the drop of leading stocks as Oman Cables Industry decreased 2.94%, Oman United Insurance declined 1.55%, and Phoenix Power weighed down 1.4%.
The sectors shed collectively, led by services which edged down 0.24% as Oman Investment and Finance and Ooredoo lost 0.93% and 0.75%, respectively.
The financial sector dropped 0.18% as Al Anwar Holdings decreased 1.39% and Al Izz Islamic Bank slid 1.33%.
Industry levelled down 0.02%, led by Muscat Thread Mills with 3.61% and Galfar Engineering and Contracting with 1.19%, while Oman Fisheries increased 1.94%.
The traded volume declined to 13.64 million shares on Thursday against 23.73 million shares on Wednesday, as trading value tumbled to OMR 2.64 million against OMR 4.52 million.
