Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended 0.38% or 20.94 points lower, reaching 5,550.69 points at the closing of Sunday’s trading session.
The decline was due to a decrease in leading stocks, as Oman and Emirates Investment Holding fell 7.56%, Al Anwar Ceramics lost 4.46%, and Raysut Cement shed 4.4%.
The sectors collectively lost, led by the industry sector with 0.98% as Oman Fisheries tumbled 5.13%, National Detergent levelled down 5.08%, while Galfar Engineering and Contracting led the risers with an increase of 3.7%.
The services sector weighed down 0.24% as National Gas, Phoenix Power, and Al Jazeira Services inched down 1.87%, 1.43%, and 1.18%, respectively.
The financial sector went down 0.03% after Financial Services retreated 13.33%, and Oman and Emirates Investment Holding decreased 7.56% - its lowest level in a year.
Traded volume rose to 38.27 million shares on Sunday against 22.92 million on Thursday, as well as trading value reached OMR 11.25 million against OMR 3.4 million in the previous session.
