Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed 0.23% or 12.86 points lower at 5,537.74 points on Sunday.
The index was affected by the drop of some stocks in the services and industry sectors.
The services sector lost 0.21%, led by Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) which slid 3.78% and Al Hassan Engineering which fell 1.85%.
On the other hand, the financial sector rose 0.46%, led by Al Madina Takaful with 4.76% and National Bank of Oman (NBO) which increased 2.23%.
The industry sector increased 0.24%, topped by National Aluminum Products and Al Anwar Ceramics with 2.94% and 1.32%, respectively.
The volume of trading declined to 10.37 million shares against 17.02 million on Thursday. Similarly, traded value dropped to OMR 1.72 million against OMR 3.82 million in the previous session.
