Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Thursday, the last trading session of the week, 0.26% or 14.26 points higher at 5,571.62 points.
The financial sector levelled up 0.8% led by Al Madina Takaful with 6.32%, followed by Bank Sohar and Taageer Finance with 2.92% and 2.8%, respectively.
The industry sector gained 0.48% led by Muscat Thread Mills with 10%, followed by Oman Fisheries and Oman Flour Mills, which rose 6.12% and 2.27%, respectively.
On the flipside, the services sector lost 0.36% as Renaissance Services, Ooredoo, Sembcorp Salalah, and Port Services Corporation weighed down 1.83%, 1.54%, 0.83%, and 0.45%, respectively.
Traded volume increased to 22.92 million shares on Thursday, against 11.35 million shares on Wednesday, while trading value rose to OMR 3.4 million against OMR 2.76 million.
Al Madina Takaful led in terms of trading volume after 5.66 million shares were exchanged, while Takaful Oman Insurance led in terms of trading value with a liquidity of OMR 905,530.
