Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Wednesday in the red, losing 0.31% or 16.95 points and reaching 5,511.1 points.
The decline was due to pressure from the financial sector, down 0.36%, as Ominvest lost 1.51%, Bank Nizwa tumbled 1.08%, whereas Gulf Investment Services Holding led risers with 2.8%.
On the other hand, the industry sector rose 0.08% led by Al Hassan Engineering with 1.89%, and Oman Flour Mills with 1.76%.
The services sector edged up 0.05% after Al Suwadi Power and Port Services Corporation went up 2.22% and 1.79%, respectively.
Traded volume reached 14.24 million shares on Wednesday against 12.2 million shares on Tuesday, while trading value increased to OMR 4.13 million against OMR 2.74 million.
