MSM ends Wednesday in green

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) saw a positive performance on Wednesday.

The general index rose 0.3% or 17.16 points to reach 5,793.33 points.

The financial sector grew 0.84% as Al Madina Investment Co. (AMII) and Al Sharqiya Investment Holding added 0.84% and 2.19% respectively.

Muscat Bank fell 2.6%, yet it was the most active stock and value leader after generating OMR 2.52 million from the exchange of 2.58 million shares.

The industrial sector went up 0.79% as Galfar Engineering and Contracting, and Oman Fisheries grew 7.14% and 3.96% respectively.

On the other hand, the services sector was the only losers after falling 0.11% as Al Jazeira Services and Ooredoo sank 4.23% and 0.64% respectively.

The market saw trading of 23.9 million shares on Wednesday, compared to 13.5 million shares on Tuesday. Turnover stood at AED 5.2 million, compared to AED 2.48 million.
