Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market closed Monday in green after five declines in a row.
The benchmark index, MSM 30, rose 0.67% or 33.09 points to 4,981.57 points, and the Sharia Index plummeted 0.17% to 915.99 points.
The index closed yesterday dipping 3.21% or 164.04 points to 4,948.48 points.
Trading volume reached 11.43 million shares worth OMR3.23 million through 845 trades.
Financial and services sectors were up by 1.42% and 0.11% respectively, while industrial was down by 0.37%.
Oman Textile Holding was the best performer with a rise of 10%, while Sharqiyah Desalination was the top loser after dropping 5.15%.
Nizwa Bank and Omantel made the biggest trading volume and trading value activities through 1.67 million traded shares and OMR 820,000 respectively.
