MSM ends week up 0.46%

Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) gained 0.46% or 25.24 points, as it closed this week at the level of 5,521.29 points.

MSM saw only only three sessions this week, as the National Day holidays will be on Wednesday 23 November and Thursday 24 November.

All the sectors rose this week, led by the financial sector which added 1%, followed by the industrial and the services sector which edged up 0.28% and 0.25% respectively.

Omani investors leaned towards buying netting OMR 1.32 million, while Arab investors netted OMR 21,830, while foreign investors were net sellers with OMR 773,460.

Al Hassan Engineering led the gainers this week as it surged 7.02%, followed by Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Al Jazeira Services with 6.21% and 4.81% respectively.

On the other hand, United Power was the biggest decliner and dropped 4.27%, followed by Al Maha Ceramics, and Oman Textile Holding with 4.27% and 4.1% respectively.

Total traded volumes increased by 2.12% to 49.2 million shares compared to 48.18 million shares last week, while turnover declined by 6.45% to OMR 8.66 million from OMR 9.26 million.

The market cap went up by 0.16% and registered OMR 17.26 billion compared to OMR 17.25 million in last week.
