Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) continued its bearish performance for the fourth session in a row on Thursday, amid low trading activity.
The general index fell 1.67% or 86.57 points to reach 5,112.52 points. Shariah index retreated 0.91% to reach 831.34 points.
Trading volume decreased 0.85% to 12.84 million shares on Thursday from 12.95 million shares. Turnover lost 19.4% to OMR 3.58 million from OMR 4.44 million.
The financial sector slid 2.48%, followed by the services and industrial sectors at 0.94% and 0.46%, respectively.
Al Jazeera Steel Products topped gainers after adding 4.83%, while Oman and Emirates Investment Holding led decliners after losing 10%.
Muscat Bank was the most active company after trading 4.31 million shares, generating OMR 1.77 million.
