Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) saw a negative performance at close on Monday.
The general index declined 1.31% or 75.21 points to reach 5,659.93 points, while Shariah index fell 0.86% or 7.4 points to 588.99 points.
The market saw trading of 14.73 million shares through 837 transactions, with turnover of OMR 2.28 million.
The financial sector retreated 2.12% as Gulf General Investment Co and Al Sharqiya Investment Holding slid 6.92% and 5.88%, respectively.
The services sector went down1.04% after Al Jazeira Services declined 5.66%. Meanwhile, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power gained 1.93% and 1.42% in a row.
The industrial sector levelled down 0.78% as Galfar Engineering and Contracting decreased 5.38%.
Oman Fisheries was the worst performer after losing 8%, while United Finance topped gainers after rising 2.31%.
Galfar was the most active company after trading 2.32 million shares, while Al Anwar Holdings was the value leader after generating OMR 233,210.
