Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) saw a negative performance in the week ended 15 June.
The general index fell 1.99% or 106.36 points to reach 5,248.41 points.
Market capitalisation reached OMR 17.807 billion this week, compared to OMR 17.899 billion last week.
Al Batinah Power was the worst performer with a 11.24% decline, followed by Gulf Investment Services Holding and Oman United Insurance which retreated 7.61% and 6.74%, respectively.
On the other hand, Voltamp Energy topped gainers after adding 5.88%, followed by National Detergent and Oman National Engineering and Investment Company which increased 1.78% and 1.67, respectively.
The services sector led losers with a 2.37% decline, followed by financial and industrial at 1.52% and 1.15%, respectively.
Trading volume reached 47.29 million shares this week, compared to 71.94 million shares last week. Turnover amounted to QAR 9.57 million, compared to QAR 13.41 million.
