MSM falls for 3rd successive session

Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed in the red for the third successive session on Thursday, amid the collective decline of sectors.

MSM30 retreated 0.36% or 21.5 points to reach 5,931 points, while the Shariah index declined 0.32% or 2.87 points to 886.10 points.

Trading volume reached 18.18 million shares on Thursday, compared to 17.28 million shares on Wednesday.

Turnover stood at OMR 4.3 million, compared to OMR 5.8 million.

The services sector was the top loser after falling 1.02%, followed by the financial and industrial sectors at 0.36% and 0.28% in a row.

Oman Hotels and Tourism Company topped gainers after adding 28.877%, while Al Jazeira Services was the worst performer with a 4.92% decline.

Bank Muscat was the most active stock and value leader after trading 2.84 million shares, with a turnover of OMR 1.14 million.
