Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.28% or 15.17 points to close Monday at 5,528.69 points.
The financial sector grew 0.7% after Gulf Investment Services Holding topped risers, surging 9.4%, followed by Oman and Emirates Investment Holding with 6.67%, and Alizz Islamic Bank with 4.4%.
National Finance was the worst performer, sliding 5.3%.
The industry sector increased 0.34% after Oman Fisheries, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, and Galfar Engineering and Contracting gained 2.92%, 1.39%, and 1.28%, respectively.
On the other hand, the services sector declined 0.13% as Al Jazeira Services dropped 3% and Renaissance Services lost 1.4%.
Traded volume rose to 12.23 million shares on Monday against 10.59 million shares on Sunday, while turnover increased to OMR 2.69 million against OMR 2.18 million in the previous session.
Oman Fisheries’ stock, up 2.9%, was the most active on the MSM on Monday after 3.63 million shares were exchanged at a value of OMR 512,130.
