MSM gains 19.5 pts at Wednesday’s close

Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Wednesday in the green zone after gaining 0.36% or 19.5 points, reaching 5,421.95 points.

Traded volume reached 30.98 million shares, through 1,148 transactions, with a liquidity of OMR 4.35 million.

The financial sector rose 0.54% as Al Anwar Holdings increased 2%.

The services sector grew 0.38% after Phoenix Power gained 3%.

The industry sector went up 0.28% as Oman Fisheries levelled up 2.8%.

On the flipside, Oman Textile Holding retreated 6.2% and Oman International Development and Investment Company shed 0.38%.

Bank Nizwa led in terms of trading volume with 6.09 million shares exchanged, rising 1.06%, while Al Madina Takaful was the most active stock in terms of traded value with a turnover of OMR 724,870, rising 0.84%.

Earlier on Wednesday, the main index lost 0.03% or 1.43 points to reach 5,401.01 points.
