Mubasher: The general index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Tuesday rose 0.21% or 10.55 points to 5,063.11 points.
MSM tradings were suspended from Thursday to Monday due to the Eid Al Adha holiday.
MSM gained OMR 2.15 million, reaching OMR 17.64 billion in market capitalisation.
The financial sector increased 0.69%, backed by a rise in eight major stocks, topped by Al Sharqiya Investment at 3% and Al Madina Takaful at 2.97%.
The industrial sector also rose 0.39%, led by Oman Fisheries, the top winner, at 6.67% and Galfar Engineering at 1.37%.
On the other hand, the services sector dropped 0.34% after the decline in four major stocks, as Oman Education and Phoenix Power slid 7.05% and 2.46%, respectively.
Trading volume declined to 9.84 million shares versus 17.08 million shares in the previous session, and trading value dropped to OMR 1.09 million versus OMR 3.03 million.
