Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) saw a negative performance on Sunday, with its main index falling 0.31% or 16.5 points to reach 5,386.64 points.
The market was weighed down by the fall of blue chips like Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing, Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, and Galfar Engineering which sank 2.78%, 2.56%, and 2.35%, respectively.
The financial sector retreated 0.4% as Al Madina Investment Co sank 2.67%.
The industrial sector levelled down 0.34% after Construction Material Industry and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles tumbled 3.33% and 1.4%, respectively.
The services sector went down 0.29% after Oman National Engineering and Investment and Oman Telecommunications decreased 3.7% and 0.4%, respectively.
Trading volume reached 6.01 million shares on Sunday, compared to 14.46 million shares last Thursday. Turnover amounted to OMR 1.35 million, compared to OMR 2.3 million.
