Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) continued its positive performance for the fourth session in a row on Monday, as the main index closed at 5,212.07 points, the highest level in 14 sessions, after adding 0.63% or 32.7 points.
However, the Sharia Index declined 0.06% or 0.52 point to 815.9 points.
Turnover decreased to OMR 5.49 million from OMR 7.2 million yesterday, and trading volume reached 32.14 million shares exchanged through 1,354 trades, compared to 27.2 million shares exchanged on Sunday.
The financial and industrial sectors jumped 1.54% and 0.13%, while services dipped 0.54%.
Out of 47 companies, 16 closed up, 18 moved down and the remaining 13 stood at the same rates.
Al Hassan Engineering was the best performing share as it grew 6.67%, while Port Services topped the red list with a fall of 7.7%.
National Bank of Oman was the most active share in terms of value with turnover of OMR 1.44 million, whereas Bank Nizwa was the largest-traded stock after 7.41 million shares changed hands.
The main index gained yesterday 162.85 points, making the third rise in a row.
