MSM’s main index plunges 0.10% at close

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Tuesday in red, as the benchmark index, MSM 30, declined 0.10% or 5.39 points to 5,429.36 points, and the Sharia Index plummeted 0.20% to 860.56 points.

MSM 30 dropped yesterday by 0.02% or 1.21% point, reaching the level of 5,434.74 points.

Trading volume reached 9.6 million shares worth OMR 3.08 million through 549 trades.

Services and industrial sectors fell by 0.33% and 0.20% respectively, while the financial sector rose 0.09%.

Out of 40 traded companies, 10 shares closed higher, 12 others shrank and the 18 remaining stood at the same rates.

Oman Agriculture Development was the top performer with a growth of 17.24%, whereas Al Jazeera Steel Products was the weakest with a drop of 2.86%.

Muscat Bank made the biggest trading volume and trading value activities through 2.66 traded shares worth OMR 1.25 million.
