The general index rose 0.01% or 0.37 points to reach 5,817.20 points.
The market saw trading of 4.9 million shares through 175 transactions by 11:35am Muscat time, with a turnover of OMR 1.2 million.
The industrial sector advanced 0.26%, followed by the financial and services sectors at 0.07% and 0.17% respectively.
Oman Fisheries topped gainers after adding 1.67%, while Al Sharqiya Investment Holding led losers with a 2.8% decline.
Bank Sohar was the most active stock and value leader after generating OMR 415,800 from the exchange of 2.2 million shares.
