Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Sunday 0.47% or 25.64 points lower, reaching 5,450.28 points.
The index was affected by a drop in leading stocks, as Oman and Emirates Investment Holding retreated 6.87%, followed by Gulf Investment Services Holding with 5.98%, and Raysut Cement with 3.04%.
The industry sector shed 0.89% after Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Fisheries went down 2.72% and 2.68%, respectively, whereas Galfar Engineering and Contracting rose 1.23%.
The services sector tumbled 0.44% as Al Jazeira Services levelled down 1.83% and Al Suwadi Power decreased 1.64%.
The financial sector dropped 0.41% after Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Al Madina Investment declined 2.54% and 1.47%, respectively.
Traded volume declined to 11.86 million shares on Sunday against 15.16 million shares on Thursday, whereas liquidity increased to OMR 2.48 million on Sunday against OMR 2.45 million in the previous session.
