Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Monday down slightly by 0.03% or 1.44 points to reach 5,385.21 points.
The industry sector inched down 0.08% as Oman Fisheries and Al Maha Ceramics Co declined 0.68% and 0.56%, respectively, while the services sector edged down 0.02% after Port Services Corp lost 0.44%, followed by Ooredoo with 0.4%, and Oman Telecommunications (Omantel) with 0.4%.
On the other hand, the financial sector rose 0.07% as Alizz Islamic Bank gained 2.5%, whereas Al Anwar Holdings dropped 1%.
Traded volume surged to 19.26 million shares on Monday against 6.01 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity increased to OMR 2.93 million from OMR 1.35 million.
Al Madina Investment Co was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 6.14 million shares exchanged, while Bank Muscat led in terms of traded value with a turnover of OMR 786,930.
