Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 1.06% or 58.94 points on Monday, closing at 5,596.67 points.
The banks and services sectors led the rise, as Al Madina Takaful increased 7.95%, Bank Sohar gained 4.44%, and Oman Investment and Finance rose 1.41%.
The financial sector went up 1.63%, topped by Al Madina Investment with 4.23% and Al Anwar Holdings with 3.41%.
The services sector went up 0.14% as Ooredoo gained 1.5% and Al Jazeera Services rose 0.57%.
On the other hand, the industry sector declined 0.16%, led by Asaffa Foods which slid 5.8% and Al Maha Ceramics Company which edged down 4.09%.
Trading volume increased to 30.87 million shares on Monday against 10.37 million on Sunday, as turnover rose to OMR 6.29 million against OMR 1.72 million.
