Cairo – Mubasher: The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has financed 441,000 small-sized and microfinance projects with EGP 9.2 billion during the period from January 2017 to September 2018, MSMEDA’s director said.
These financings helped around 642,000 clients, of whom women dominated 49% of total projects, Nevine Gamea told reporters on Tuesday on the sidelines of a conference.
The MSMEDA has financed 190,000 projects with EFP 4.1 billion during the first nine months of 2018, of which women acquired 47%, Gamea highlighted.
She added that around EGP 373.6 million in financings were pumped into infrastructure and social development projects in the 21-month period.
These projects offered 3.5 million jobs, including 56% that are directed for women, she noted.
