Mubasher: MTN and Ericsson on Thursday signed a five-year contract extension for the distribution of new products and the provision of mobile money services in 13 countries across the Middle East and Africa Region (MEA).
Under the contract, the Swedish company, Ericsson, will deploy its wallet platform in new markets to serve MTN’s customers, according to a company statement.
"A stable, secure, and reliable platform is one of the fundamentals to building successful mobile financial services. Through this partnership, we look forward to working with Ericsson to further enhance our value proposition and expand our ecosystem,” MTN group executive for mobile financial services, Serigne Dioum, commented.
The five-year agreement between MTN and Ericsson provides for a group of digital payment and transactional capabilities.
