Mubasher: Dubai-based Caterpillar company MaK Middle East has stepped up its investment in technical support and components inventory for older engines, the company said in its press release.
Customers who use MaK’s older engines, or the so-called Legacy engines, has started to see the added value from the latest investments in parts inventory in Dubai Maritime City and the Jebel Ali Free Zone, through the immediate offering of older engine components, according to the company.
“With a large number of MaK powered vessels in the MENA region exceeding 25 years of age, MaK Middle East […] is now pleased to announce the next level of ‘Legacy’ engine support,” MaK Middle East and Asia managing director Alan Naisby said.
The investment came within MaK parent company’s broader goal of boosting revenues from its manufacturing, energy and transportation services by 2026.
“With Caterpillar’s financial strength, the strategic investments we have made in parts inventories, service teams, and facilities, are aimed at supporting all operators of MaK powered vessels regardless of age and location in the UAE, and beyond in the broader MENA region,” Naisby said.
