Majid Al Futtaim begins final stage of AED 260m City Centre Sharjah

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: City Centre Sharjah, developed by Majid Al Futtaim, will begin the final stage of its AED 260 million redevelopment this October, Al Khaleej Times reported Monday.

With completion at 75%, the revamp will offer visitors new retail and leisure additions including “a massive, 12-screen, high-tech VOX Cinemas multiplex that will change the viewing experience for all movie fans,” the newspaper added.

Other additions will include 30 new lifestyle stores, new food-and-beverage (F&B) options as well as leisure activities for families.

As part of the revamp, Majid Al Futtaim will also expand the City Centre Sharjah parking lot by adding 700 spaces.
“For added convenience, Etisalat, UAE Exchange, and Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) will also be available,” the newspaper said, noting that the Dubai-based developer will feature healthcare services through its Sharjah debut City Centre Clinic, a multidisciplinary health centre, staffed by experienced doctors and nurses of various specialisations.

This redevelopment of City Centre Sharjah comes as part of owner-operator Majid Al Futtaim's planned AED 30 billion investment in the UAE by 2026.

In addition to the redevelopment and investment in existing assets, Majid Al Futtaim plans to open 10 malls, 28 cinemas, and 40 Carrefour hypermarkets by the end of 2020.
